House Painting and Siding
House painting on wood siding, fiber cement, vinyl, or stucco each requires a different approach. Wood siding needs the most prep because old paint fails at every joint and edge. We pressure wash, scrape, sand, prime bare wood with a good oil or alkyd primer, caulk joints with paintable caulk, and then apply two coats of premium acrylic latex finish paint.
Fiber cement and vinyl siding need different prep but the same finish quality. Fiber cement holds paint well but the joints and exposed cuts need primer before topcoat. Vinyl can be painted with the right product designed for vinyl substrates. Painting vinyl too dark causes warping in direct sun, so color choice matters.
Stucco and masonry surfaces have their own painting requirements. Cracks need to be filled with elastomeric patching compound before paint goes up. Efflorescence needs to be cleaned off and the moisture source identified before painting. We use breathable masonry paints designed for the specific substrate, applied at the right thickness with proper coverage.
